This is for you if
People going into makeup as a career, and working artists who currently subcontract hair or draping.
This is not for you if
Anyone looking for a weekend hobby course. This is the long one.
What you leave able to do
Capability, not vocabulary.
- Prep and correct any skin type before a base goes near it
- Match a base in daylight, in tube light and on camera — not from a swatch
- Build six looks across one wedding week that progress rather than repeat
- Set hair that survives fourteen hours, turmeric and a 5am start
- Drape a nauvari, a seedha pallu and a dupatta pinned twice
- Quote a multi-function booking and put it in writing
The syllabus, in full
Every module, and what is actually covered in it.
Published in full rather than summarised in a paragraph, because a syllabus you cannot read is not a syllabus.
- 01
Skin, hygiene and the kit
Sanitation, brush care, skin typing, prep and priming. What lives in a working kit and why.
- 02
Colour theory, correction and camouflage
Undertone, the colour wheel, neutralising. Covering pigmentation, acne scarring, under-eye depth, vitiligo and rosacea — named, because these walk into the chair.
- 03
Base and structure
Foundation, concealing, contour, blush. HD and airbrush, and controlling flashback for photography.
- 04
Eyes, brows and lashes
Cut crease, smoke, halo, liner that matches on both eyes. Brow mapping. Strip and individual lashes.
- 05
Lips
Lip mapping, correction, and a colour that survives a sangeet.
- 06
Regional bridal
Maharashtrian, South Indian, Gujarati, Punjabi and Bengali — five different sets of rules, not one look in five colours.
- 07
The functions
Haldi, mehndi, sangeet, engagement, the wedding morning, reception. What changes between them and why.
- 08
Hairstyling
Sectioning, padding and pinning that holds. Buns, braids and gajra built around a specific piece of jewellery. Waves that last. Blow-dry and setting.
- 09
Saree and dupatta draping
Nauvari, seedha pallu, lehenga dupatta, and pinning that survives a full day of movement.
- 10
Working on camera and on stage
Lighting, continuity across setups, and how heavy a look must be built to read from the back of a hall.
- 11
The business
Pricing, advances, contracts, Instagram, and what to do in the off-season.
